About me

My name is Gary Coriell.  I am located in eastern North Carolina.  I was a network administrator, recently laid off and now semi-retired.  Here you’ll find my observations and occasional rantings, nonsense, and useless trivia.  Opinions expressed here are my own.  Viewer discretion is advised.

I’m a serious supporter of the Second Amendment (the entire Bill of Rights, actually).  I suppose you could describe me as a moderate conservative, drifting toward conservative libertarian.  Whatever.

I trust the government less and less with each passing day.  I don’t like the direction our country is headed, but short of “draining the swamp” and voting all the bastards out, I don’t see any way out of this mess.

One of my hobbies is ham radio.  Another is photography.  I don’t get to enjoy either as much as I’d like to.  But I’ve managed to get in some fishing time this year, and I hope to start hunting again this winter.  It’s been a long time.

I started my previous blog – gatorinthedesert.com – when we lived in Arizona.  I let it die since the hosting provider couldn’t solve a chronic response-time problem I was having.   Except for the blogrolls, I more or less started this one from scratch.

About the blog title:  It’s a reference to Marvin the Martian’s quote “Where’s the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom!”
